Jackie Rusek Zofkie's cancer survival story began the day she vowed never to take chemo again -
This week’s Forty Minute Feature is an interview with Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Holistic Cancer Coach, La Leche League Leader, Doula and and self-described “5+ year cancer thriver” Jackie Rusek Zofkie.
For years, Jackie knew something was wrong, but every mammogram she had came back with the same report: dense breasts & no signs of cancer. When she took the initiative and made an appointment for thermography (see Thermography & the Root of All Evil, my 9/7 episode), doctors found significant blood flow to tumors in her breasts, indicating the presence of cancer. After yet another “normal” mammogram and nearly being dismissed, she fought to be heard and finally found a radiologist willing to listen.
Today, with the battle against stage III cancer behind her, Jackie and I talk about the “one and done” moment she knew she’d never take chemo again, changes she made to her diet and life that helped her body fight the disease and how she shares all she has learned with clients today. Cancer, I have learned, is technically present in all bodies all the time; understanding that is the start of a journey toward healing.
